  1. Tell us a little about the founding and development of your organization?
    Cradle of Hope Adoption Center was founded in 1990 by adoptive parents and has been providing home study and placement services for almost 22 years. We have personal and professional experience with adoption, so we understand how stressful the process can be.
  2. How long is an adoption home study valid?
    Maryland home studies are considered valid for one year, and then will need to be updated.
  3. Approximately how much time is necessary to complete an adoption home study by your organization?
    Most Cradle of Hope home studies are completed in 8 to 12 weeks.
  4. Can adoptive parents use a home study completed by your organization to adopt a child born in another state?
    Yes.
  5. If you complete my home study, do you also have to complete my post-placement visits?
    The same agency is not required to complete both the home study and post-placement visits, but its preferred.
  6. Are you Hague accredited, and if not, does your international home study comply with Hague International Standards?
    Cradle of Hope is Hague accredited. Our Hague accreditation was recently renewed and is valid through March, 2016.
  7. Do you have experience in completing the home study and working with international placement companies?
    Yes, we’ve been completing home studies for international adoption for more than 20 years. We currently offer adoption programs in Russia, China, Ukraine, Ghana and Uzbekistan.
