  1. Tell us a little about the founding and development of your organization?
    Tapestry was licensed as an LCPA in 2017. The Director and LCSW had a long standing relationship both in adoption and counseling. The idea of founding an agency that would offer adoption services at a significantly lower price point was the driving factor for founding. THe director has adopted twice.
  2. How are your adoption home study and your organization unique?
    We are a small organization of just 6 people. We are personable and transparent. We operate with extreme integrity. We strive to create a personal relationship with the families we serve so that the process is personable and relaxed. We serve all families, but our foundation is faith based Our process is done on line and submitted through a portal making the process easy and accessible..
  3. Why are you passionate about adoption and the home study process?
    We love placing children in homes from infant to teen. We know see the joy of adoption as well as the struggles and we are committed to walking in the journey with you. Tapestry strives to make the adoption process streamless and easy to navigate without getting bogged in the paperwork.
  4. How long is an adoption home study valid?
    A home study must be updated yearly and expires at 3 years
  5. Approximately how much time is necessary to complete an adoption home study by your organization?
    10 hours of adoption education which can all be done remotely. Paperwork is contingent upon your level of organization. The home study visit is 2-3 hours.
  6. Can adoptive parents use a home study completed by your organization to adopt a child born in another state?
    Yes
  7. If you complete my home study, do you also have to complete my post-placement visits?
    We would love to, but it is not a requirement.
  8. How many post-placement visits does your organization require?
    For domestic infant 1 or state ICPC requirement. For older children it is case specific.
  9. What is some advice you can give to potential adoptive families about the home study process? What should they be prepared for?
    Be honest, be vulnerable. We are here to partner with you. We are much more concerned with your adoption readiness than we are with the cobweb under your couch. We do not want this to be a stressful situation.
  10. What do your home study social workers look for in a home and a family when they visit potential adoptive families' homes?
    We want to make sure that all members of the family understand the stresses and risks of adoption. We are looking to see that both partners (or individual) have navigated losses such as miscarriage's or infertility appropriately so that the adoption process can be navigated from a place of excitement and peace.
  11. Are you Hague accredited, and if not, does your international home study comply with Hague International Standards?
    We are not Hague Accredited
  12. Do you have experience in completing the home study and working with international placement companies?
    We have done several post placements packages with International Agencies.
  13. Are there other services and benefits you would like to share about your company?
